VT Game Project Group

On Tuesday November 5, 2010 The Crooked Road Project met with Everett Young, new terrain editor from CDIA, Boston University.

The downloads and installs of Torque 3D game engine and SDK were successful and extensive documentation of Torque Script was passed around. Mikail has begun decyphering the Torque code for "rigging" cars. Rigging refers to the scripting language that gives virtual cars their suspension and the ability of avatars to get inside the cars and drive them, steering with the mouse.

The scripting group also agreed to set up the project to run in a web browser so anyone with internet access can view the work in progress.

The terrain editor has presented the group with the first attempts at moving mountains and re-shaping the existing terrain from surreal mountains on the moon to something like the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Results will be presented at the next meeting on Virginia Tech campus.

On February 1, 2011 Griffin Rhodes of CDIA joined Mikail as a 3D modeler who will assist him in getting the cars and trucks rigged.
